Cant identify a steel I beam. Please help

by Brian
(Fairfield, Ca.)

I have what was labled as a 24x120 steel beam in a garage structure. Based on all the dimensions i take off it, i cant find any documentation to go with this size. Its measurments are d=24.325 W=12.0625 Tw=.6 Tf=.93, all in inches. Obviously in some ways it falls between a 117 and 131, the biggest problem is it is slightly narrower than these wide flange beams. The inspector wants some sort of verification of what this beam is. the design of the garage only calls for a 24x103, so it is clearly larger than what is called for. any ideas on what i can do to make this inspector happy?
